NEW DELHI: Semiconductor companies that have been traditionally gaining their revenues from the smartphone sector, PC industry (incl. desktops, notebook and workstations), and gadgets, may be able to get more revenue from some of the newly emerging industries such as electric vehicles (EVs) and 5G communications.

By diversifying their business from these traditional industries, semiconductor companies also stand to gain from a wider customer base which can potentially comprise producers of large and small appliances for consumers, enterprises, as well as, connected devices and industrial equipment.
