Reliance Jio launches Jio Prime enrollment service for customers joining before March 31

Reliance Jio Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Tuesday announced the launch of its Jio Prime enrollment service for its existing 100 million customers, and new customers coming before March 31, 2017.

All Jio users can enroll membership for nominal fees of Rs 99 between from March 1 to March 31, Ambani said, adding that these customers can continue to enjoy benefits for another 12 months till March 31 2018 by paying just Rs 303, which is effectively Rs 10 per day for another full year for continuation of unlimited data and voice call services.

Jio prime members will also get full bouquet of digital services worth Rs 10,000 completely free till March 31, 2018.

Reliance Jio customers can opt for Jio Prime program through MyJio app, Jio.com and through Jio’s retail store in India.

Reliance Jio, which commercially launched operations on September 5, 2016, disrupted the Indian telecom industry with its ‘Welcome’ and ‘Happy New Year’ offer. The offer with its free voice and data services along with access its digital content ecosystem, had forced incumbents to slash tariffs.

The 4G telecom operator that launched its services, after at least five years since inception has been steadily getting money infused from the parent group. In January, Reliance Industries pumped in Rs 30,000 crore to fuel its digital expansion and enhance network coverage and capacity. This is in addition to the Rs 1,71,000 crore the group has already invested in the telecom arm in the last so far.
