Narendra Modi’s NaMo TV service launched on DTH, cable platforms
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched NaMo TV service on multiple direct to home (DTH) platforms as part of its voter outreach.
NaMo TV aims to provide real-time coverage of Modi’s Lok Sabha election campaign. The channel will live broadcast his election rallies and speeches.
The service is available on Tata Sky, Airtel Digital TV, Dish TV, and cable TV network Siti Networks.
Narendra Modi invited people to connect with him via NaMo TV on Twitter. PM Modi asked citizens to watch programmes on NaMo TV to get first-hand information about his government.
BJP tweeted, “Capture the colours of elections… Watch the dance of democracy…Say NaMo again with NaMo TV.”
“The day we were most looking forward to is here! At 5 PM, lakhs of Chowkidars from different parts of India will interact in the historic #MainBhiChowkidar programme. This is an interaction you must not miss. Watch it live on the NaMo App or NaMo TV,” Modi tweeted.
Narendra Modi also has NaMo App on its name. The app provides latest information about PM and allows people to connect with him directly.
Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party has filed a complaint to Election Commission of India against NaMo TV. The parties have raised several questions on monitoring and cost of content of the telecast.
In its letter to the Election Commission of India, party has said, “Supreme Court of India in its various judgments held that there has to be a level playing field for all the political parties and the commission is entrusted with the duty to maintain the same among all the political parties.”
The party further said, “The intention behind these judicial precedents is to have equal opportunities to all political parties irrespective of money and muscle power, so that all political parties can reach out to the voters. But defying this very cardinal principle BJP has launched 24 hrs channel NaMo Tv.”
