Like Amazon’s Alexa and Google’s Assistant, Apple’s Siri is listening to your conversations too

A former contractor has revealed that Apple is paying contractors to listen to users’ conversations with Siri. A new report by The Guardian has revealed that workers have accidentally heard users’ private conversations, including doctors’ appointments among others, with Apple’s voice assistant Siri.
The contractor told The Guardian that these interactions with Siri are actually sent to workers who are asked to grade them on a host of factors. These include whether a request was intentional or accidentally trigger or if the response given by Siri was useful or not.
Apple commented on the matter and in a statement issued to The Guardian it acknowledged that “a small portion of Siri requests are analyzed to improve Siri and dictation. User requests are not associated with the user’s Apple ID. Siri responses are analyzed in secure facilities and all reviewers are under the obligation to adhere to Apple’s strict confidentiality requirements.” The Cupertino-based tech giant also said that less than 1% of daily activations are analysed using this method.
