How Apple iPhone may lead to as many as 19 foldable phones in 2020

First day, flop show is how we would actually describe the foldable smartphones so far. Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Fold back in February and seven months later it has still not been officially launched. Huawei, which followed Samsung’s suit, and announced its Mate X foldable phone a few days later, too is awaiting the launch. Yet, that hasn’t deterred almost everyone in the smartphone market to jump on the foldable phone bandwagon. And now if a new report is to be believed then we can expect as many as 19 new foldable phones to be launched in 2020.
As per a report by ETNews, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Motorola, LG, TCL all are expected to have a foldable phone in the market by next year. One of the key reason behind the foldable phone mania has been then less than expected sales of iPhones in 2019. How, you may ask? Simply put, it’s the classic case of supply outweighing the demand. There are far too many OLED display panels available in the market because the iPhone didn’t do well as expected.
