Android users, you may love or hate Google Play Store’s new feature

Let’s face it, autoplaying videos on any site isn’t a feature that too many people actually like. One may be at work browsing through a website and suddenly a video starts playing startling one and all around. For those who use Android phones and browse the Google Play Store, it looks like this ‘annoying’ feature may arrive soon.
According to a report by XDA Developers, Google Play Console Help has all but confirmed that autoplaying videos will soon be a part of the Play Store. The feature is expected to arrive next month as noted in the Promo Video section of the Google Play Console Help. The page notes, “Beginning September 2019, Google Play will start autoplaying store listing videos to help more users discover your content at a glance.” The official reason given by Google is that certain app developers have ad videos in their listing and the company wants to remove that. “Developers with a video in their store listing must disable ads by November 1, 2019 to keep the video eligible to be shown on Google Play,” notes the web page.
