e-KYC services by UIDAI

In 2016, the government had notified “Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016”. Since then, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) had allowed authentication services for registered licensees, who had been using certified POS equipment (registered devices), free of cost.

And for those licensees not using registered devices, they were given window for a few months to take certification. To discourage them from using unregistered devices, they were charged 20 paisa (paid by Authentication User Agency or AUA) and 10 paisa (by Authentication User Agency or ASA) for authentication (wef August 1, 2017) by UIDAI.
