BSNL extends Sunday free voice calling benefits on landlines for another quarter

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) which was supposed to withdraw its free voice calling benefits from landlines on Sundays, has extended the benefits for another 3 months. The company’s CMD Anupam Shrivastava tweeted that the benefits of Free Sunday Calling have been extended for another quarter.

In a tweet Shrivastava wrote “BSNL Landline customers can continue to avail the benefits of Free Sunday Calling for another quarter.” The offer that was supposed to be withdrawn from February 1 will continue till April 30.

The company had earlier decided to discontinue free night calling benefits. BSNL had revised the night voice calling scheme in mid-January after which free calling is being offered from 10.30 pm instead of 9 pm, as per a PTI report.

The company also released a statement saying that the Sunday Free Calling facility from BSNL landline to any other phone, any other operator, which was supposed to be closed wef 1.2.2018 would continue to be free for another three months. The decision was taken after considering popular demand from all corners of this country.

The telco had introduced the Sunday free voice calling offer back in August 2016 to add more consumers. The decision to stop free Sunday voice calls was made after witnessing a sudden decline in usage of voice calling on broadband and landline plans, according to reports.
