Apple to equip 2021 iPhone models with touch-integrated OLED displays: Report

Tech giant Apple would equip the 2021 iPhone models with touch-integrated OLED displays, as per a report by South Korea-based ETNews.

The report says that Apple has placed orders for the touch-integrated OLED display panels to be incorporated into the next year’s iPhone models. The touch-integrated OLED panels, instead of having touch sensor films, come with inbuilt touch sensors, thus making them thinner, as the need for the touch-receptive layer gets eliminated. This means cost cuts too. The new touch integrated OLEDs will be supplied by Samsung Display, as per the report.

The report says: “According to the industry on the 19th, Apple ordered a touch-integrated OLED as the display standard for the iPhone in 2021 . Apple next year demanded that all panels to be used in the new iPhone be touch-integrated.”
