Apple quietly launches new variant of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in India

Just after announcing the prices and dates of availability of the latest iPhone 11 series, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing Philip Schiller told the audience that Apple is going to keep the iPhone XR and iPhone 8 in its 2019 lineup. While addressing everyone present there, he mentioned the revised prices of the iPhone XR and iPhone 8. However, he didn’t mention the changes in the storage capacities of the two iPhone models.
iPhone 8 will now be available in a new 128GB variant. To recall, at the time of launch, both iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Pius were launched in 64GB and 256GB storage models. After yesterday’s launch, the Apple website shows the 128GB model in lieu of the 256GB variant. Times of India-Gadgets Now spoke to retailers in Delhi and Noida region, who confirmed the same. Apple authorised resellers currently show the 64GB and 256GB variants of both iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
