After Instagram, Facebook tests hiding of ‘Likes’ on its website

One of the major features in Facebook may soon vanish from the website and the app. The company is planning to remove the ‘Like’ count from its platform and has started testing it as well, as per Gizmodo. The firm is said to have rolled out the new format to Australian users for now. On asking Facebook, the company spokesperson confirmed the move to the news website.
“We are running a limited test where like, reaction and video view counts are made private across Facebook. We will gather feedback to understand whether this change will improve people’s experiences,” said the spokesperson.
This doesn’t mean that the ‘Likes’ from posts will simply vanish. Users will still be able to see the common friends who have liked the post along with ‘others’ instead of numbers.
