Zoom rolls out email, calendar features to take on Google, Microsoft
At the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, Zoom rose to become one of the most popular apps across the world. Video calls had become the norm — rather than the exception — and Zoom’s utility quotient was rather high. Now that several parts of the world have gone back to pre-pandemic times, Zoom is making an attempt to diversify its portfolio of services. In a blog post, Oded Gal, chief product officer Zoom, said that the email experience in the Zoom app is designed to bring all communication into Zoom via popular email services, plus Meetings, Phone, Whiteboard, and Team Chat. Users will be able to connect their existing third-party email services to the Zoom app. Further, users will be able to copy an email message to a team chat or channel to continue collaboration.
