Zoho will launch OS for laptops in a year, CEO Sridhar Vembu says

CHENNAI: Zoho is working on some fundamental technology projects, which will begin to go live in the next 5-7 years, company co-founder and CEO Sridhar Vembu said on Friday.

Many of Zoho’s experimental projects are taking shape, and the company is beginning to track metrics around these. These include Zoho’s own operating system for laptops based on Linux, work on which is on and is set to be launch as early as in one year time. “The usability of the OS will be the key, and Zoho is investing heavily on offering a fresh new take on customer usability,” he said.

The company also recently launched its own privacy-centric web browser Ulaa, which was launched earlier this year.
