Zee-Sony merger likely to be called off, termination notice to be issued by January 20: Report

The much anticipated merger between Zee Entertainment and Sony’s India arm may not go through, with Sony likely to issue a termination notice before January 20, reports said on Monday.

News agency Bloomberg reported that Sony is planning to call off the $10 billion merger, a move which would’ve created the biggest media entity in the nation. Citing sources, Bloomberg reported that Sony was no longer comfortable with Goenka leading the merged entity amid the ongoing regulatory probe.
