YouTube earned $15 billion for Google in 2019

Google parent company Alphabet has announced its fourth quarter results of 2019. This is the first quarterly result since Sundar Pichai moved from being the head of Google to Alphabet. This quarterly result, also for the first time, reveals how much revenue Google’s video streaming service YouTube has earned for the company.

As per the fourth-quarter 2019 earnings report, YouTube ads generated an overall revenue of $15.15 billion in the fiscal year 2019, of which, $4.72 billion in the fourth quarter alone. This is approximately 10% of the total revenue Google has earned in the fiscal year 2019.

According to a report by CNBC, on a call with analysts, Ruth Porat, CFO of Google said YouTube’s non-advertising revenue reached a $3 billion revenue run rate in the fourth quarter.
