YouTube brings shopping to Shorts, tests commissions for creators

You can now shop while scrolling Shorts on YouTube, and soon creators will also get paid for the products you buy watching their videos. The feature comes just a few days after Financial Times first reported that YouTube would soon introduce shopping to Shorts.

The shopping feature, currently made available to the audience in the US, India, Brazil, Canada, and Australia, will let them buy products shown in the video. Meanwhile, only ‘eligible’ creators based out of the US can use the feature and tag any product from their store.

Users in India can also purchase the product from Shorts
Currently, there is no word on the eligibility criteria for the creators wanting to use the shopping feature in their videos.
