YouTube adds new features to its desktop website
YouTube has added new features to its desktop website. YouTube’s mini player, the picture-in-picture mode that lets you scroll through the rest of the screen while watching videos that shrink to a small box on the bottom right corner of the screen. It will now allow viewers to perform functions like play, pause and restart videos. It will now also let users maximize the video they are watching directly from the mini player with new ‘expand’ option in the top left.
Besides this, YouTube has also introduced features to better manage playlists. Users can now sort videos in a playlist under categories including Date Published, Date Added and Most Popular. There’s also an option to edit playlist privacy settings directly from the playlist page. YouTube will allow collaborators to manage playlists through the “collaborate” option in the three dot menu on playlist.
Google’s video platform has also added a new “share” button on the playlist page that works the same way as sharing videos, but now allows users to share entire playlists.
