Your car may soon be able to pay for fuel, recharge FASTag; here’s how

With new technologies and features, the digital payments landscape is evolving at a significant pace. The latest innovation is a new feature called ‘pay by car’. Launched by Amazon and Master Card-backed ToneTag, the service will integrate the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) system into the car’s infotainment system. This new service will be another convenient way for users to make smartphone-free digital payments. The latest tech was recently showcased on MG Hector. The carmaker partnered with Bharat Petroleum to make payments directly from the car. It also eliminates the need for a smartphone or other mobile devices.
