Xiaomi’s next big bet looks to be the 108MP camera

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is already said to be working on launching a smartphone that features an 108MP rear camera. This was reported earlier last month by The Next Web, at a briefing in China, that the company has announced that it “will become the first manufacturer to use Samsung’s brand new 108-megapixel ISOCELL sensor.” The highest resolution of an image from this sensor will be a whopping 12,032 x 9,024 pixels, as per the report.
Adding weight to that report, is the latest input from XDA Developers that claims that Xiaomi is working on not just one, but four smartphones which will sport a 108-megapixel primary rear camera as they have found “evidence that suggests that several devices from Xiaomi will come with the 108MP sensor, likely to be the Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor.”
