Xiaomi India pledged 2500 smartphones to support online education

NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi said on Thursday that it has pledged 2,500 new Xiaomi smartphones worth Rs 2 crores towards the digital inclusion of children from communities worst affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

For the initiative, Mi India has partnered with Teach for India for making the smartphones available to children so that they can undertake online learning and educational activities, Xiaomi said.

“The partnership will ensure that these brand-new smartphones can be used by children to access online classes, ensuring continuity in their education,” XIaomi added.
