Woman held for snatching cellphone in Santacruz

MUMBAI: A 21-year-old woman has been arrested for snatching a cellphone in Santacruz (East) on Tuesday afternoon. Accused Ritika Kasbe was caught after she used a blade to slash the victim’s hand and snatched her phone. Vakola police said Kasbe was caught by another woman a few distances away after the victim Swati Margach (31), screamed for help.

The incident occurred at around 1.15 pm when Margach was returning home after dropping her two kids off at school. “There is no criminal record of Kasbe. She was caught after a police team reached the spot on receiving an alert from a local,” said Vakola police senior inspector Prakash Khandekar.
