Wistron pares loss at iPhone facility to Rs 50 crore; Violence not pre-planned: Cops

Bengaluru: Apple Inc contract manufacturer Wistron has revised losses at its plant in Narasapura (Kolar) following last week’s violence to around Rs50 crore, much lower than initially estimated.

A senior police officer told ET that preliminary investigations have ruled out premeditated violence and that those who indulged in vandalism at the factory were the company’s outsourced contract workers.

The manufacturer had initially estimated losses at Rs437 crore in the FIR, which ET had reviewed. The company management is expected to submit a revised estimate to the police, the officer said.
