Wipro shares gain 1% after Co appoints Thierry Delaporte as new CEO and MD
Shares of IT major Wipro gained over 1 per cent on the BSE on Friday after it announced Thierry Delaporte as the new chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director (MD) of the company, replacing Abidali Neemuchwala. Delaporte was most recently the chief operating officer of French consulting and technology firm Capgemini Group.
At 09:50 am, the stock was trading 1.46 per cent higher at Rs 202 apiece on the BSE. In comparison, the benchmark S&P BSE Sensex was trading nearly a per cent lower at 31,901 levels. Wipro had hit a 52-week high of Rs 301.55 on June 14, 2019, whereas its 52-week low level stands at Rs 159.60, hit on March 19 this year.
