Wipro, Microsoft to invest in West Bengal; create thousands of jobs: Mamata

KOLKATA: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday said IT majors Wipro and Microsoft have agreed to invest in the state.

Banerjee said that Wipro would be allocated 50 acres of land at the Silicon Valley IT hub at New Town here, while Microsoft would start e-commerce platforms in West Bengal.

“Wipro is coming back to Bengal. They will take 50 acres of land at the Silicon Valley Hub. This will lead to employment of 10,000 people,” Banerjee said, while addressing the “Save Green Stay Clean” event at Nazrul Mancha here.
