Wipro appoints Vinay Firake as APMEA CEO after region president resigns

IT giant Wipro’s Asia Pacific, India, Middle East and Africa (APMEA) president Anis Chenchah resigned on Friday to “pursue opportunities outside the organisation”, the company said in an exchange filing. The company appointed Vinay Firake, a Wirpo veteran, as the new APMEA chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Notably, Chenchah is the first big exit since new CEO Srinivas Pallia took charge after the former CEO Thierry Delaporte resigned on April 6. Chencha joined Wipro when Delaporte was Wipro’s CEO and the duo had worked together in Capgemini.
