Window Dressing by BSNL

When the whole industry was shifting to 4G services about three years back, Anupam Shrivastava, CMD of BSNL kept procuring 2G & 3G technologies, and now when the industry is moving to 5G aiming launch by 2020, he wants to rollout a 4G project at the cost of Rs 26,398 crore, which BSNL says will be ready by June 2020. Also, Mr Shrivastava wants over half of this cost to be funded by the government through equity infusion promising a bright return on the basis of “window dressed” balance sheets.
