Why ‘one plus one’ has worked for OnePlus

Earlier this month, during and an exclusive interaction with The Times of India-Gadgets Now, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said, “I think moving forward we are going to — at least for now — stick with current strategy by introducing two products; wherein one will be affordable and the other one be priced higher.” And it seems the strategy of launching two phones is paying off (as of now) for the smartphone maker in India.

According to the latest report from research firm Counterpoint, OnePlus not only emerged as the number one premium smartphone brand in third quarter of 2019, it also saw an increase in its shipments. The company’s shipments almost doubled as compared to last year driven by its newly-launched device OnePlus 7T and discount offers on its OnePlus 7 series.
