Why Epic lost the Apple case and won against Google

After weeks of battling legally over Google’s alleged app store monopoly, Epic Games got a win as the jury ruled in favour of the Fortnite maker. In the Epic vs Google case, the jury found that Google turned its Google Play app store and Google Play Billing service into an illegal monopoly that stifles competition.

What the court said
Following a few hours of deliberation, the jury unanimously agreed that Google has a monopoly in the Android app distribution and in-app billing services. It also agreed that Google resorted to anti-competitive practices in the market and deals with OEMs were also anti-competitive.
