Why Donald Trump wants “to do something” about Facebook, Google and Twitter

NEW DELHI: The US president Donald Trump is once again making headlines in the tech world. In the last couple of weeks, Trump ‘renamed’ Apple CEO Tim Cook, accused Google of ‘helping’ China and spoke about how he didn’t want computer scientists to fly planes around the world. Now, Trump has trained his guns on the entire “social media” so to speak. Apparently “something is happening”, according to Trump.
As per a report by CNET, at a recent press conference – which he held with the Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro – Trump reportedly said, “Something is happening with those groups of folks that are running Facebook, Google and Twitter. I do think we have to get to the bottom of it … It’s collusive and it’s very, very fair to say that we have to do something about it.”
The US president didn’t stop there and perhaps suggested a hint of conspiracy theory or two as well. He further said, “It’s different from what it used to be. Things are happening, names are taken off, people aren’t getting through.
