As reported by WABetaInfo, the upcoming WhatsApp feature will allow users to directly send a notification whenever they mention specific contacts in their status updates.

As per the report, WhatsApp is currently developing a feature that allows users to mention contacts in their status updates, slated for inclusion in an upcoming update.
