WhatsApp Pay has got National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI)’s permission to formally launch its services. Now, WhatsApp users will be able to send money to their contacts via the messenger via Unified Payments Interface (UPI), India’s own payment platform, under the control of NPCI.

WhatsApp announced the roll out of payments feature in 10 Indian languages in the latest stable version of its app on Android and iOS.
