WhatsApp for Android finally gets fingerprint security
WhatsApp users on Android can now secure their chats with fingerprint lock. The biometric lock feature is available for iPhone users for quite some time. It was earlier rolled out for WhatsApp Beta users only and it is now available for all.
The feature can be enabled on Android devices in the Settings section of WhatsApp. From there, they have to scroll down to the Account section and head to Privacy. There, users will find a new option called the Fingerprint lock.
Notably, the feature is already available iOS users as ‘Screen Lock’. It was first rolled out for iOS beta users in February this year. Apple iPhone users can use Touch ID or Face ID to unlock their Whatsapp. Android users, on the other hand will be able to use only fingerprint to open WhatsApp.
