WhatsApp beta for iPhone disables saving profile photos of other users
Instant messaging platform WhatsApp has brought a few changes to its beta version for iPhones. The messenger now no longer allows you to save others’ WhatsApp profile pictures—a change it also brought in the Android beta version.
Previously, WhatsApp profile pictures could be saved simply by opening a profile of a person, tapping on the image and selecting the “save to device” button. This move seems to be inspired by the growing need to protect user privacy.
Other that this, the update has also introduced album improvements and tweaks in the audio export format. WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo spotted that the app now shows the total size of the album and the number of items that are there in it.
