New Delhi: Following the Supreme Court’s admission of a petition to pre-censor OTT content on Thursday , the debate around regulation of OTT and digital content has intensified like never before. ET has looked into how different countries are attempting to regulate OTT sector. Discussions on the models of self regulation have taken place in the US and EU, and in countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea and Australia. In most countries the regulatory paradigm has come from the print and other forms of traditional media, and has been driven by demands for its own cultural sensibilities and protection of children, rather than legal aspects.
