In fact, India is predicted to witness an extended monsoon spell this year. The rainfall activity over north India shows no signs that it will decline — at least not till the September end. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted above normal rainfall activity over northwest, central India, near-normal over south peninsular India and below-normal over east and northeast India.
