We are preparing for 5G trials to test real use cases in India: Bharti Airtel CTO

Bharti Airtel said that it is preparing for 5G field trials in the country to test real use cases such as mobile broadband and wireless at home. In an interaction with ET’s Danish Khan, Randeep Sekhon, Chief Technology Officer of Airtel said that the telco wants to reach out to industries through these 5G trials to develop industrial use cases.

He added that the Indian government’s move to use spectrum in the sub-6Ghz is an important move and will help drive the uptake of 5G services once commercially available. Edited excerpts:
