WAN spend of 5,000 large global companies to increase 44% to $85 billion by 2026: Report
NEW DELHI: The global wide area network (WAN) market will grow by 44%, from $59 billion in 2021 to $85 billion in 2026, according to a survey of 5,000 large global companies by telecoms market research and consulting firm, TeleGeography.
By region, China, the United States, and India will remain the top three countries by WAN revenue over the next five years, according to the report.
The contribution of Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)’s to the market revenue will decrease by 55% over the forecast period, it added. MPLS and access lines connecting MPLS ports accounted for 60% of global WAN revenue for the largest multinational organizations in 2021, but the firm has predicted this to drop to 27% by 2026.
