Walmart to reportedly layoff 2,000 employees

E-commerce major Walmart is the latest company to join the list of tech layoffs. According to an online report, Walmart is planning to lay off 2,000 employees across five e-commerce fulfilment centres in the US.

As reported by Bloomberg, Walmart is reportedly planning to lay off 2000 of its employees. The job cuts are said to include 1,000 positions in Fort Worth, Texas, as well as 600 in Pennsylvania, 400 in Florida, and around 200 in New Jersey. Apart from this, the company is also planning to reduce some staff in California.

The report further states that Walmart confirmed the job cuts at its warehouses. The company did not reveal the reasons for the layoffs. The company spokesperson informed Bloomberg that the company is cutting jobs but is also planning to expand in other areas which will create jobs.
