Vulnerability to cybercrime will increase with 5G technology: DGP
Panaji: Director general of police (DGP) Jaspal Singh on Thursday said that the 5G network will enhance the vulnerability to cybercrime.
He said that it is difficult to track accused in cybercrimes because of anonymity and geography of the crime. Singh said that the dark web is a challenge to both state and central agencies.
“Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 5G technologies that will further enhance vulnerability because the internet of things will become operational. Your house lock, refrigerator, television and many other devices will be on the internet. Sitting anywhere you can find out whether I need to switch off things which were mistakenly not switched off,” the DGP said.
