Vodaone Idea gains 10% on reports of capital infusion

Shares of Vodafone Idea jumped nearly 10 per cent in Thursday’s early trade after ET reported that Vodafone Group Plc is likely to infuse fresh capital into the domestic telecom player to deal with operational requirements, including settling adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues and taking on deep-pocketed rivals.

The scrip traded advanced 9.90 per cent to Rs 4.66 at around 9.18 am (IST), while the benchmark BSE Sensex was down 0.60 per cent at 30,205.

While Vodafone is set to put in $200-225 million, $125-150 million may come from its JV partner, the report said.
