Vodafone, NTT Docomo join hands to harmonize SI, tests for Open RAN
NEW DELHI: UK-based telecoms group Vodafone and Japanese telco NTT Docomo have signed a pact to harmonize system integration and test processes for greater efficiency in Open Radio Access Network (Open RAN), with a greater view to help companies across Europe and Asia build networks based on the open architecture.
The telecom companies in a joint statement on Wednesday said the uniform approach to tests will help vendors avoid repetition when working with multiple operators while ensuring that the industry delivers secure by-design products as defined by the industry bodies – 3GPP and the ORAN Alliance.
