Vodafone Idea woes: Network equipment vendors get jittery over dues recovery

New Delhi | Mumbai: Vodafone Idea’s network vendor partners Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei and ZTE are getting increasingly jittery over the recovery of dues, at a time when the telecom operator is short of cash and on the brink of serious repayment challenges.

The European and Chinese vendors haven’t reached out to Vodafone Idea (Vi) seeking immediate payment of dues, but are closely monitoring the evolving situation, said people in the know. Some of the vendors have started holding internal meetings to discuss the situation and gauge their exposure to the telecom operator.
