Vodafone Idea to strengthen its backbone in RoWB circle soon

SILIGURI: One of the largest telecom operators in India Vodafone Idea Ltd is going to strengthen its backbone in Rest of West Bengal(RoWB) telecom circle by increasing its tower strength in the tune of over 30% soon to ensure deeper penetration. The company, formed with the merger of Vodafone and Idea almost a year back, is putting full effort to arrest slippage in its combined market share.

The initiative is aimed towards deeper penetration into the non metro areas of Bengal that comes under RoWB) circle. “Prior to the merger, Vodafone had total 5000 towers and idea had 1980 in Bengal. Out of them, now we have total 6370 towers with 4G service,” said Shivan Bhargava, Business Head, Kolkata and ROWB.
