Vodafone Idea to delay AGR dues payments by 4 years

Vodafone Idea NSE 1.17 % has said that it will delay the payment of AGR dues amounting to Rs 8837 crore by 4 years, after the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), in a letter dated June 15, offered the option to do so.

The cash strapped telco will pay the final amount to be paid in 6 equal annual installments post moratorium period starting from 31 March 2026, Vi said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

“The Company has received a further communication dated 15 June 2022 (“DoT Letter”), wherein the DoT has offered a moratorium of four years (on an NPV protected basis) for all AGR related dues upto Financial Year 2018-19 which were not included in the Hon’ble Supreme Court order dated 1st September, 2020,” the telco said in the filing.
