Vodafone Idea says added 12,000 4G sites in Q3; 4G user base at 109.7 million

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea said that it added around 12,000 4G FDD sites primarily through refarming of 2G/3G spectrum to expand its 4G capacity in the quarter ended December 2020.

“We continue to expand our LTE 900 presence in select locations, including through dynamic spectrum refarming, to improve customer experience,” it said.

Till date, the company said that it has deployed over 61,000 TDD sites in addition to the deployment of ~12,900 Massive MIMO sites and ~11,800 small cells.
