Vodafone Idea requests DoT to clear pending spectrum allocation applications; says increasing network capacity

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea has requested the telecom department (DoT) to clear its pending applications for spectrum allocation and regularise its backhaul spectrum as the telco ensures 4G network availability amid the ongoing pan-India 21-day lockdown.

“We are hopeful that DoT would expedite our spectrum liberalization requests and regularize our backhaul spectrum…the govt realizes the critical role of telecom services during this crisis and is taking necessary steps to enable smooth functioning of telecom operations,” the telco said in a statement

The telco said that it is deploying capacities across using all means including the addition of COW sites wherever appropriate.
