Vodafone Idea provides UPI-based recharge services in partnership with Paytm

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea Tuesday said it is enabling its feature phone and non-digital savvy customers will be able to avail recharge facilities via a valid UPI ID, in partnership with online payments platform Paytm.

“The service doesn’t require a mobile-internet facility to undertake such recharges and non-Paytm app users can also easily avail this service,” said the telco in a release.

The recharge service is based on the payment service *99# which works on the USSD channel. This service allows mobile banking transactions using basic feature phones without the need for mobile internet.
