Vodafone-Idea offers cashback for recharging other users’ numbers
Telecom operator Vodafone-Idea has announced ‘Recharge for Good’ programme to promote online recharge of prepaid numbers in times of coronavirus lockdown. Under this programme, Vodafone Idea users can earn rewards and cashback for recharging other customers prepaid numbers.
The programme is similar to the ones offered by Reliance Jio and Airtel. However, unlike Reliance Jio that requires users to download a separate app, this Vodafone-Idea feature is available on both MyVodafone and MyIdea mobile apps. For performing every prepaid recharge via MyVodafone and MyIdea app, customers will earn a commission of up to 6%. To compare, Airtel is giving 4% commission, while Reliance Jio is giving a cashback of 4.16%.
Earlier this week, Airtel rolled out the Airtel Super Hero feature on its Airtel thanks app. It will enable users to enroll themselves as a ‘superhero’ and recharge Airtel numbers of other customers to earn their commission on recharges. Under the feature, customers can transact using debit cards, credit cards, UPI, net banking, Airtel payments bank, and e-wallets as payment options. However, the deducted amount during payment checkout would be 4% lesser than the actual MRP.
