Vodafone Idea erroneously charges several users Rs 99 as international roaming rental due to tech glitch

New Delhi: Social media was flooded on Tuesday with consumer complaints against Vodafone Idea, which had erroneously charged several users Rs 99 as international roaming rental.

Several users, who claimed they had neither subscribed to such a pack nor travelled to a foreign country, received a message from Vodafone Idea saying, “Dear Customer, this is to inform you that a rental amount of Rs 99 has been deducted toward international roaming rental for 30 days.”

Vodafone Idea spokesperson told ET that the amount had been erroneously charged due to a technical glitch and that the amount has been credited back to all the users who faced the issue.
