Vodafone Idea, Bharti Airtel advance ahead of SC hearing on AGR case
NEW DELHI: Shares of Bharti AirtelNSE 0.68 % and Vodafone IdeaNSE -3.08 % were trading on a firm note in Thursday’s session ahead of the Supreme Court’s hearing on the adjusted gross revenue (AGR) matter.
The apex court had earlier asked telecom operators to file replies with roadmaps and timelines for the payment of their AGR dues to the government and the security they seek to provide against it.
Vodafone Idea owes Rs 58,254 crore in AGR dues to the government. It has paid only Rs 6,854 crore so far. Airtel owes Rs 25,976 crore after paying Rs 18,004 crore.
At 10.20 am, shares of Vodafone Idea were trading 0.61 per cent higher at Rs 9.91 on BSE. Bharti Airtel, on the other hand, was up 0.82 per cent at Rs 568.10.
